Scott Rusczyk
Scott Rusczyk, with over 21 years of corporate
insolvency and restructuring experience, is Managing
Director of Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors. In this
position, he is responsible for overseeing all
activities of the company and also serves as its
Secretary.
Mr. Rusczyk is also Vice President \ Business Affairs
for the Buxbaum Group and is responsible for oversight
of all firm activities, including its liquidation,
advisory and turnaround engagements, as well as its
investments, mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Rusczyk also served as President, reporting to the
General Manager, of Rio Garment S. de R.L., a Honduran
manufacturer of knit tops providing full-package
service to a variety of North American retailers from
2009 until the sale of the Company in 2011.
Additionally, he serves as Vice President of
Buxtradefina, LLC, a Buxbaum Group affiliate that
provides financial and marketing services to apparel
manufacturers.
Rounding out his corporate responsibilities, he serves
as Secretary/Treasurer of Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors, an
affiliate company that offers a wide range of services
for both profitable and distressed jewelry retailers
and wholesalers.
Mr. Rusczyk joined Buxbaum Group in March 2006 after
working as an independent corporate-restructuring
consultant for approximately six years. Prior to that,
he spent 11 years practicing law in New York, with a
particular focus on corporate bankruptcies, including
Chapter 11 reorganizations, Chapter 7 liquidations and
creditors’ rights representation. He was formerly a
partner in bankruptcy boutique Siegel, Sommers &
Schwartz, LLP. He earned a J.D. degree at Brooklyn Law
School and a BA from the State University of New York,
Albany.
